ENTERPRISE CONTENT MANAGEMENT:
The term ECM states set of methods,tools,strategies that are used for caturing,managing,storing,preserving and delievring content and information to organization processses. In ECM information can be of any form like as paper document, an electronic file, a database print stream, or may be an E-mail.
It traditiionally refers to doucument management,record management,digital asset management (DAM) and as well as work flow management.
ECM combines capture,search and networking of document using digital archiving. It mainly focuses on Business-To-Employee(B2E) system, Business-To-Business(B2B),
Business-To-Government(B2G) and Government-To-Business(G2B).Enterprise content management is working properly when it is effectively "invisible" to users.
ECM applications are delivered in three way :
a) On-Premise Software : these are installed on the organization's own network.
b) Software As A Service (SaaS) : It means anyone can access to information that stored on the software manufacturer's system.
c) Hybrid Approach : It is combination of both On-Premise and SaaS component.
Some of the famous ECM product are:
1) Microsoft Share Point.
2) Oracle Content Management.
3) Some Open Source porduct like : WebGUI, Alfersco, Sensenet,eZ Publish, KnowledgeTree, Jumper 2.0,Nuxeo and Plone.
ECM combines components which can also be used as stand-alone systems without being incorporated into an enterprise-wide system like :
